I was trained in Microbiology during my PhD. Afterwards I moved to Developmental Biology and used Drosophila as a model organism to investigate gene networks involved in the morphogenesis of different organs, mainly eye, brain and wing. Now at the Institute of Population Genetics, I am trying to use this background to develop functional assays and test the impact of genetic polymorphisms on phenotypic variation within natural populations of Drosophila.
