research interests:
Experimental evolution, evolution of behaviour, population genetics, cognitive science.
I have always been fascinated by the mechanisms of evolution. During my doctoral studies I have investigated the evolution of cognitive capabilities in different species, such as domestic fowl and cotton-top tamarins, using the comparative approach. I have also studied behavioural lateralization in sheep.
At the Institute of Population Genetics I focus on experimental evolution in Drosophila and other system models. I investigate which environmental conditions trigger evolutionary responses at the phenotypic and genomic level.
