Research in our group investigates a number of questions central to understanding animal evolution:
How does the genetic regulation of development evolve?
What are the molecular changes in developmental factors underlying morphological variation?
What is the relationship between the evolution of variation within species and differences between species?
We address these questions from different perspectives using flies of the Drosophila melanogaster species subgroup and the spider Achaearanea tepidariorum.
